In what way we can use Porous Ceramics?

Posted on Updated on

Porous CeramicsPorous ceramics are used widely in bone tissue engineering, catalytic reactors and membrane separation. Flix weed seeds are known as medicinal plants but recently they are used as pore-forming agent in ceramic technology, because of their constant shape, narrow size and low coast. Fabrications of porous zirconia have been done by tape casting technique, utilizing flix seeds. The disk shaped pieces of tape cast were fired for 2h at 1400oc, the resulted zirconia disks are with bulk density of 3.96g/cm3, total porosity of 34.6 ± 0.9%, and with a linear shrinkage of 21.5 ± 0.3%.
