Organizational cynicism can be defined as negative attitude of the employees towards the organization for which he/she is serving. It is employee’s unfriendly attitude towards one’s organization due to the organizational policies, which tries to ditch its employees with false promises or with its dishonest behavior. It is a condition where employees lose confidence due to poor work atmosphere, leading to dissatisfaction, disturbances and hopelessness towards the organization.
Work satisfaction is closely associated with employee’s performance. Hence organizations must take enough steps in fostering the healthy work atmosphere. A study that tried to assess the link between the organizational cynicism and its impact on employee’s performance conducted at a Pakistan based teaching hospital revealed that although employees have negative attitude about the hospital they work, there are several other conditions like lack of basic facilities and training that is leading to poor performance.
